CaribbeanTales Media Group Productions (CTMG Productions) is a Toronto based production company that creates and produces Black and culturally diverse film and television content. Founded by award-winning filmmaker and Academy member Frances-Anne Solomon.
CTMG Productions has produced the feature films HERO (dir. Frances-Anne Solomon, Canada/Trinidad & Tobago), KINGSTON PARADISE (dir. Mary Wells, Canada/Jamaica), A WINTER TALE (dir. Frances-Anne Solomon, Canada), the television sitcom LORD HAVE MERCY! (Showcase/APTN, Canada), the documentary series HEART BEAT (Bravo, Canada) and LITERATURE ALIVE (Bravo, Canada), among others.

Frances-Anne Solomon
CEO/Director
Frances-Anne Solomon is a trailblazing and award-winning writer, producer, director, curator and distributor in film, television, digital media and radio. Her professional career began at the BBC in England, where she was a successful executive producer. After moving to Canada, in 2001 she became the founder and CEO of the CaribbeanTales Media Group, which produces compelling and culturally diverse film and television content. Her work as a director includes the films ‘What My Mother Told Me’, ‘Peggy Su!’, and ‘A Winter Tale', and the series ‘Lord Have Mercy!’, and ‘HeartBeat’. Her most recent film ‘HERO: Inspired by the Extraordinary Life & Times of Mr. Ulric Cross’, won international awards and is currently available on Showtime and Prime in the US and the UK. She is a Director member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the British Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Directors Guild of Canada.

Dahlia Fernandes
Development Producer,
Marketing Manager, Productions
Meet Dahlia Fernandes - film marketer, producer and songwriting whose work has been featured on Netflix, Disney Channel, NBC, Amazon Prime, Cineplex and Showtime. Her work has expanded across the U.K, U.S, Caribbean and Canada. Her work includes global marketing plans for Director Frances-Anne Solomon's "Hero - The Extraordinary Life & Times of Mr. Ulric Cross", production of Darius McCrary's podcast "I'm Not Laughing" and Director, Producer & Co-writer of Proof of Concept "Art for Love" as a participant of CaribbeanTales CineFAM Women of Colour Limitless program 2022.

Maya Bastian
Development Producer
Maya Bastian is an award winning filmmaker and artist. Her short film TIGRESS was supported by CBC, NETFLIX and the CANADIAN FILM CENTER, and participated in CANNES COURT METRAGE 2021. She is in development on multiple features and is currently show running a 1/2 hour comedy series on race & representation ‘HOW TO BE BROWN’ with CineFAM as well as co-writing and directing a paranormal mystery series with REFLECTOR ENTERTAINMENT. She is the producer of CTMG's The Big Pitch event in partnership with TIFF, and is the lead programmer for CTMG's distribution arm, Black Market Releasing.

Nicole Brooks
Producer, Writer
Nicole Brooks is a critically acclaimed television and multiple Dora nominated producer whose production work began as story editor on Canada’s first multicultural sitcom Lord Have Mercy (VisionTV/Showcase/APTN/Toronto|One). Since then, Brooks has established a reputable 20+ year career with over 100 hours of content in film & television as a producer, director, writer and story editor, having her work broadcasted on Canadian platforms such as CBC, OMNI, Bravo!Fact, VisionTV, and internationally on TVOne (USA) and Flow (Caribbean). Brooks' credits also include Executive producing CaribbeanTales international pilots through its flagship Incubator Program now known as Creators of Colour Incubator.

Steph Tablizo
Production Manager and Development Producer
Steph Tablizo is a Filipino-born, queer, multi-faceted, filmmaker with 12+ years of experience in different aspects of film production such as Art Direction, Production Design, Directing, Producing and Production Management. Her work spans across TV, Film, and Advertising. Since moving to Toronto, she has become the Production Manager and Development Producer at CaribbeanTales Media Group and has worked for several CaribbeanTales’ projects including The Microcredentials Program, The Ward, The Lady President, and the CTBISAP training programs. In her free time, she likes to go on long walks with her dog, experimenting in the kitchen, discovering the city and retreating in nature.

Calyx Passailaigue
Development Producer & Fundraising Coordinator
Calyx Passailaigue is an award-winning non-binary writer, director, actor and producer. Their work has received numerous awards including Toronto Metropolitan University's Jack Kuper Film Award, the Universal Studios Canada Scholarship in Filmmaking, Best Medium Length Narrative at the Trinidad + Tobago Film Festival, and Best Toronto Based Filmmaker at the Toronto Arthouse Film Festival. As an actor, they have appeared on a Canadian Screen Award winning episode of “Paranormal Nightshift” and were cast on “Star Trek: Discovery.” Calyx's short film "Men at War" is being distributed by Troma Entertainment. Their Canada Council for the Arts funded comedy mockumentary “Zeen?” has received worldwide distribution through CaribbeanTales Media Group.

Fernanda Cavalieri
Story Editor and Development Producer
Fernanda Cavalieri received her BA in Film & Audiovisual from the Universidade Federal Fluminense in Brazil, where she completed a thesis on the impact of American cinema on Brazilian body image in the 1930’s. In Toronto, she completed the Television Writing and Producing post-graduate program at Humber College. She is a Story Editor at CaribbeanTales Media Group, working alongside creators to develop, research and prepare film and television projects for production.

Asis Sethi
Development Producer
Former PLAYBACK MAGAZINE’S 10 to Watch, an alumni of WOMEN IN DIRECTOR’S CHAIR, and CINEFAM’s Limitless program, Asis Sethi is a South Asian Canadian filmmaker with 15 years of experience as a producer, creator and a host on lifestyle shows. Her REMI Award winning short on menstruation, A BLOODY MESS, was screened at 30 film festivals. Asis has created over 100 hours of content for national television including a 16 episode docu-series funded by the OMNI Documentary Fund. Her short film on postpartum depression, ROCK THE CRADLE, was funded by the CANADA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS. Asis is in development for her feature SLAM DUNK, SEHAJ! which was supported by the CFC/NETFLIX CALLING CARD ACCELERATOR and won CARIBBEANTALES' The Big Pitch at TIFF in 2022.

Kristen Lambie
Development Producer, Story Editor
Kristen Lambie is a Jamaican/Canadian screenwriter, creative producer and actress who has worked in front of, as well as behind the camera in a variety of independent film and television projects. Kristen strives to tell stories about her experiences as a woman of the Caribbean/African Diaspora, including topics of identity, belonging and her Jamaican culture. She is now taking the next step into honing her skills as a writer and producer.

Mary Wells
Screenwriter
Mary Wells is an award winning independent film Director/ Writer and Producer from the Caribbean & USA and has some thirty years experience in television and film production. As the first woman from Jamaica to do a feature narrative her debut film, Kingston Paradise was awarded ‘Best Diaspora Feature’ in the Africa Movie Academy Awards 2014. She also wrote and directed an animated mini drama series for young adults and children, Ms. Sugga. In 1999, her short, Now Jimmy! was awarded “Outstanding Documentary from the Caribbean” in the Sheryl Lee Ralph Film & Music Festival and was also screened at the prestigious Toronto Int'l Film Festival, 2002. Recently in 2022, she has helped to develop and write a mini TV drama series for CaribbeanTales and is in development for the Moya's Love project, which will be her second feature film. She studied Television Production and the Theatre Arts in Wash DC, USA .

Jamie Gaetz
Story Editor
Jamie Gaetz has extensive experience as a development executive, script reader and story editor. As an analyst with Telefilm Canada, she worked with clients in Quebec and across Atlantic Canada where she was a member of the team that nurtured talent behind many award-winning films, including two films shortlisted for Cannes, one selected for Sundance, a winner of the Claude Jutra Award, several selected for TIFF and a top download on iTunes. She joined Caribbean Tales as story editor on HERO and since then has been involved with several other projects, including CLAUDIA and IN THE BLACK.

Daisy Komujuni
Development and Training Coordinator
Daisy is a Toronto based writer and producer. After interning in the film and broadcasting world while working in the market research analysis and publishing industries she channeled the skills acquired into producing narrative work. She is currently serving as the Development and Training Coordinator for several projects produced by CaribbeanTales Media Group and the Creators of Colour Incubator Access Program. In her spare time Daisy enjoys photography, comedy and listening to dramatic cinematic music while doing mundane things.

Sasha Stoltz
Publicist & Executive Producer
With a background deeply rooted in the business community, publicist and executive producer Sasha Stoltz, comes with a "both feet on the ground" quality that her clients have come to depend on. A respected member of North America's publicity elite in the Film and Music industry for over 12 years, Sasha has become the "go to" Publicist, able to "turn on a dime” whatever the budget. Her personal touch to every detail and ability to stay calm and poised no matter the circumstance has earned Sasha the complete trust of her clients. Her ability to connect and hold on to relationships is key to her success. Garnering contacts in Canada, US and UK ensures her clients receive the exposure they deserve. From a young age, Sasha was fully entrenched in several successful family-owned businesses. Sasha has worked the red carpets on both sides of the border, MMVA's, Toronto International Film Fest, Gemini Awards, US Daytime Emmys and NAACP Awards. Sasha is also the Executive Producer at Have Faith Productions. Have Faith Productions just completed the feature film "Sons 2 The Grave” currently streaming on Apple TV + and Amazon Prime. . The next project from Have Faith Productions will be the feature film "Loud Silence,” and the TV series "Hudson."
